2013 LEAGUE INFORMATION
MONDAY - TUESDAY - WEDNESDAY
The 2013 Men’s Leagues will be starting in May and now include Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday Nights! Each league night will consist of the first 28 two-player teams that fill each night. The fee to join is $375 and also makes you an Associate Member of Mountain Branch. The fee includes your weekly green fee/cart fee and the end of season banquet/league gift. An additional fee of $5 per night is due prior to play. This fee produces the prize fund for each evening.
Players without a partner will be paired with another single if available. Start time is 5:30PM each evening with a shotgun start. The Mountain Branch staff will do their best to pair you with a different opponent every week.
FORMAT
The format for each league night is a "Net" Stableford Better Ball Partners. Each two-person team will earn points on each hole based on their best "Net" score. It is the responsibility of each League Member to establish a USGA Handicap which is included with your League Associate Membership. Members who have not established a handicap prior to League play will compete as a "scratch" golfers until they have established a legitimate handicap. NO EXCEPTIONS.
Double Eagle = 7.5 Points, Eagle = 5 Points, Birde = 3.5 Points
Par = 1Point, Bogey = -1.5 Points, Double Bogey or Higher= -3.0Points.
ALTERNATES
Alternates are permitted to play in the place of a missing teammate during the "regular season". Alternates are not allowed to participate in the Match Play Event. The greens fee is $30 to be paid in the Golf Shop plus the $5 weekly prize fund. Alternates will play as a "scratch" golfer unless they have an established handicap at Mountain Branch NO EXCEPTIONS.
MATCH PLAY
Teams that qualify for the Match Play must play with the original team members. Alternates are not allowed to participate in the Match Play - NO EXCEPTIONS. The Match Play will be played as a "Net" Better Ball of Partners Match Play.
TEES
White Tees: Any Participant Age 55+
Black Tees: All Participants under the Age of 55
HANDICAP RULES FOR PLAY
A new rule change this season is in effect regarding the maximum number of strokes allowed during League Play. A maximum 18-Hole handicap of 28 will be implemented. All players will receive 50% of their individual USGA handicap each night.
Example 1: Player A has a 28 handicap, he will receive 50% or 14 shots for 18 holes. The 14 shots will then be reduced to 7 strokes for 9-hole play. Therefore Player A will get 7 strokes for the nine holes played that night.
Example 2: Player B has a 12 handicap, he will receive 50% or 6 shots for 18 holes. The 6 shots will then be reduced to 3 strokes for 9-hole play.
